COMMAND MC Attends Towson Undergraduate Leadership Summit

On February 20, 2010, COMMAND MC attended the B+MORE PROUD LGBTQIA Leadership Summit held at Towson University. Over 150 college students representing 25 local colleges and universities attended.

COMMAND MC’s goal was to raise its visibility within the LGBTQIA college community and promote itself as the premier Baltimore leather organization. The club had an information table, distributed literature, and encouraged students to provide their e-mail addresses to be contacted at a later time. Students were also offered complimentary tickets to the club's upcoming Black & Blue Ball, scheduled for March 26, 2010.

Representing COMMAND MC were David Shover (President), Allan T. (Vice President), Mike S., Marty T., Greg S., and Doug R. In addition, TJ B. represented Brother, Help Thyself.

The goals of the leadership summit were to cultivate leadership skills, encourage student involvement, and provide an opportunity for socializing and networking between LGBTQIA student leaders.

Keynote speakers included Sam Offer, VP/Senior Consultant of the Washington Consulting Group and long-time social justice activist and educator, Dr. Ronni Sanlo, Director of the UCLA LGBT Campus Resource Center, and Morgan Meneses-Sheets, Equality Maryland.
